Shop Time to BeginSeptember 23, 2009 Materials for the first prototype have been ordered and received. Naturally that means it’s time to get started in the shop. Chief engineer, Cleve Wilcher, has been spending time in the shop introducing the new members to the lathe. Trainer, Adam Jankowski, will also be providing valuable lathe, mill, broaching and welding lessons to the new and eager to learn members during the next few days. Both of their efforts will aid in increasing the number of useful hands around the shop, allowing the team to get a strong start on frame construction for the first prototype. Adam has also been working hard during the past few weeks with each rider individually regarding a study of rider geometry and power output. His work will greatly improve the efficiency of our riders out on the course. Construction of the first prototype is scheduled to begin this Friday(9/25) and be completed by late Sunday(9/27). Feel free to look at the teams webcam throughout this coming weekend and semester to watch our progress of another rewarding Missouri S&T Human Powered Vehicle season. 9/23/2009 11:35 PM

Tour of MissouriSeptember 12, 2009 On Wednesday September 9th, 2009 Rolla hosted the Tour of Missouri Stage 3 finish. The team spent the afternoon showing off the bikes to the Rolla community and everyone that was in town for the tour. This event was a great opportunity for our team to network with a lot of potential sponsors. Fred Patton with TimingGuys.com donated a Phoenix Sports Technology timing system to our team last year and was able to get to see the bike in person for the first time. This timing system has been very beneficial to our team and other design teams at our school so we would like to thank all of our donors for making our project possible. 9/12/2009 6:04 PM

One Semester down, One more to goDecember 10, 2008 Since the last post, the team has been working on fundraising as usual and we have had people in the shop most days for the past 2 weeks working on the fairing plug. We have identified the issues with the first prototype for the single rider and Mike has been working on finalizing the plans for a second prototype. Construction for this prototype should begin soon. Other than that everyone is wrapping up this semester and ready to go on Winter break. 12/10/2008 2:15:00 PM

Starting in the ShopOctober 28, 2008 The first single rider prototype is almost finished. We are currently tweaking the design and fixing a few issues. After initial test rides, the bike appears to handle better than previous bikes at high speeds, but one thing to look at now is the low speed control and adjusting the chain path. Also, as of last week's meeting, the single rider bike is now called, Transgressor and the utility bike will be named within the next few weeks. So if you have any suggestions feel free to e-mail them in. 10/28/2008 8:37:00 PM

Starting in the ShopSeptember 26, 2008 With the single rider design finished, the team will be making our first prototype for testing within the next week. The utility design is nearing completion and construction of a prototype should begin soon, so be sure to check out our webcam. The team is also getting full into fundraising so that we can afford everything we want to do this year. So if you have any spare change feel free to stop by our sponsorship page and check it out. *wink, wink* 9/26/2008 9:01:00 PM

March UpdatesMarch 13, 2008 The team has been working hard in the past month to get everything done. We are finalizing the design report for both endurance and the utility bike. In preparation for that, we are completing all of our testing. We completed tuft testing yesterday and the video will be posted soon. We are going to do seat belt and power testing tomorrow. We are currently laying up roll bars for the practice fairing and in the process of laying up the final fairing. 3/13/2008 8:05:00 PM

Updates for February 12, 2008February 12, 2008 Its been a long time since an update, but the team has been working hard. Since our last post, the university officially became known as Missouri University of Science and Technology(Missouri S&T). The website has had several updates to it because of this we apologize for any bugs or display problems. Fairing Design has been finalized and the plug was assembled. Currently, we are in the process of making molds for our parts and hope to finish them in the next couple of weeks. The final frame is still being optimized, so assembly still has not started in that department. 2/12/2008 10:05:00 PM
